Brief Profile

  • I am a Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at Nnamdi Azikiwe University – Awka with a wide range of experiences in teaching, researching, publishing, and consulting.
  • I have extensive experience in conducting economic research, and field surveys.
  • My research capability spans Microeconomics, Game Theory, Energy/petroleum economics, public sector policies, Project Evaluation, and Public finance.
  • In the course of my career, I have taught Economic Theory (Micro and Macroeconomics); Research Methods (qualitative and quantitative), Energy Economics, Environmental Economics; Project Evaluation, Measurement and Evaluation /Supply, and Value Chain etc. at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • In mentoring students, I have supervised more than a dozen Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. candidates; a good number are professors.
  • I have served as an ad hoc member of the NUC accreditation team and have visited many universities.
  • I have also assessed more than a dozen lecturers to the ranks of Professor and Associate professors.
  • My research works are published in learned journals both locally and internationally.
  • I have also served as a consultant/resource person in some commissioned studies/projects nationally and internationally, as well as a national assignment(s), such as MDGs projects, LEEMP projects, NEWMAP projects as well as SDGs projects, and the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) Abuja
  • I have served as a member of several professional organizations notably, the Nigerian Association for Energy Economics, and an affiliate of the International Association for Energy Economics (NAEE/IAEE) as Vice President (conference and publications).
  • I have served in the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) as a Research Fellow and the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) as a Council member.
  • I am a member of the National Technical Working Group (TWG)(Business Environment subgroup) of the ongoing National Development Plan 2021 - 25 and African Vision 2050 under the Presidency and National Development Plan Ministry of National Planning.
  • I have attracted projects worth billions of naira to the university while serving as the Head Department of Economics such as Books to Departmental Library from Fidelity Bank.
  • During my tenure as the Dean of, the Faculty of Social Sciences I attracted Buildings such as the Faculty Auditorium of 700 sitting capacity; an Office Building housing 20 offices for professors and senior lecturers situated at the medical school, Donation of seats for staff and students from Guarantee Trust Bank Nigeria as well as staff sponsorships for conferences.
  • I co-established the International Centre for Regional Integration and Trade Research; and the AFREXIMBANK Project focused on promoting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) policy kin Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka
